What classes do you offer?
We offer a diverse schedule for all ages in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop, Pointe, Choreography Combo's, Stretch & Strength, Turns & Leaps & Creative Movement and Preschool Classes. We bring in guest artists to offer workshops in dance, voice, acting, history, kinesiology, nutrition & music.
Is registration required to take classes?
We ask that every participant create a student account so that we may reach you in the event of a change of schedule. Online registration is available here available on the app, website or at the studio front desk.
Do I have to pay for a full month before I try a class?
We welcome dancer's to try their first class. Register first to make sure it is available. Students are welcome to drop by for each style at no charge to find the best fit for placement.
How do I know which level of class to take?
We offer a variety of classes for each age group and level, you are welcome to try them all. If you've chosen a class that is not best for you, we will happily switch you to another class.
What if my schedule only allows for class occasionally, can I take "drop-in" classes?
Our classes are all available for drop-in. Please register and let us know at the desk if you prefer drop-in billing.
Does your school have a dress code?
We have a dress code for our ballet classes. Details for other styles are listed by each class on the registration page. We suggest wearing clothes that allow the teacher to see your lines so that corrections may be made with more accuracy. All dance shoes and dancewear are available at the studio or in your student account.
What if I am late for class?
We understand busy schedules & students admitted into class after the start time will be asked to stretch on their own before dancing. This is to ensure proper warm-up, reduce injuries, and class etiquette. Makeup classes are also available.
Am I allowed to watch my child in class?
We offer viewing TVs & windows to see what is happening in the classroom at all times to check on your child.
Do you have professional dance floors?
Yes, we have invested in professionally sprung floors in every studio & professional surfaces to protect our dancers & faculty.
Do you have students teaching the class?
We do not use teens to teach our classes. Our adult staff has professional credentials and will only utilize an underage dancer as a teacher's assistant.
When do classes start & finish?
Our season begins in September and ends in May. We follow Wood County school's calendar for the major holidays & breaks. During spring break we will offer makeup classes for weather and attendance. In the summer, the faculty will offer camps, intensives & choreography workshops to keep dancers connected and fit.
Do you have a recital?
Yes, we end our season with an optional showcase the 3rd or 4th week of May at The Smoot Theater. The recital allows students the chance gain performing experience and show friends and family what they have learned throughout the year. There is an additional fee for costumes.
Do you have extra performance opportunities?
Our faculty offer companies with concert dance opportunities and competitive groups that our dancers choose their own involvement in.
How will I be kept informed of holidays, upcoming events & other information?
Students will receive updates via email and text messages. The best source of information is to be registered with a class to receive email updates as well as frequently check the studio facebook page & our website www.pacewv.com
